NEWARK, Del. – The Blue Hens in the NLL did not stop working after the holidays. UD accounted for 10 points and 25 loose balls in a week featuring multiple head-to-head matchups between former Hens.
Mike Robinson (2020-24) and the Halifax Thunderbirds took down Tye Kurtz (2019-23) and the Albany FireWolves, 13-9, on Saturday. Robinson tallied one assist to go along with eight loose balls. Kurtz posted two assists and six loose balls.
On Saturday, Reed Kurtz (2020-24) and the Ottawa Black Bears defeated the Toronto Rock, 12-11. The defenseman did not factor statistically in the contest.
Kevin Lynch (2020-23) watched his Philadelphia Wings earn a victory over Matt Acchione (2021-24) and the Saskatchewan Rush, 12-11, in overtime on Saturday. Lynch did not appear, as he is currently on the Practice Player List, while Acchione played but did not record any stats. Brett Manney (2004-08) is a member of the Philadelphia Wings' staff, serving as the Head of Youth Development.
On Saturday, Owen Grant (2019-23) and the Vancouver Warriors bested Curtis Dickson (2007-10) and the Calgary Roughnecks 14-10. Grant posted a game-high five caused turnovers, one assist, one loose ball, and four blocks. Dickson continued to shine during the young season, tallying a team-high four goals and adding two assists for six total points. The Roughnecks' veteran also led the team in loose balls (10) and shots on goal (10).
