Women’s Basketball Hosts Delaware State Saturday Afternoon

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team (2-5) hosts its first game in three and a half weeks, facing the Delaware State Hornets (3-5) on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. inside the Bob Carpenter Center.

ABOUT THE HENS

Delaware enters Saturday off a nine-point win in the Big Easy Classic over Evansville back on November 30.
Against Evansville, Chloe Wilson delivered her second double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds, marking the 17th double-double of her career. Ande'a Cherisier recorded her first career double-double, contributing 13 points and 11 rebounds, including five on the offensive end.
Through the season's first seven games, Cherisier leads the team in scoring with an average of 10.6 points per game, followed closely by Tara Cousins at 10.1 points per game. Wilson continues to dominate the boards, averaging a team-best 7.7 rebounds per game.
The Blue Hens rank second in the CAA in three-point shooting with a 32.3 percent clip.

ABOUT THE HORNETS

The last time out for the Hornets was a loss on Thursday, December 5 against St. Francis, concluding their two-game homestand.
Head coach Jaz Turner is in her second season at the helm of the Hornets.
Mahogany Cottingham paces the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game.
