Women's Basketball Hits The Road For CAA Matchups Against Drexel And Hofstra

PHILADELPHIA | HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Delaware is prepared to become road warriors again this weekend, this time heading to the City of Brotherly Love and the City that Never Sleeps, ready to open February slate of CAA games, first against Drexel on Friday and Hofstra on Sunday. Tipoff against the Dragons is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Daskalakis Athletic Center with the game being broadcast simultaneously on NBC Philadelphia and FloHoops.
Sunday's matchup with the Pride will be inside David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex slated for a 2 p.m. tip. The game will be broadcast simultaneously on MSG and FloHoops.

- Cherisier stopped the Blue Hens' four-game skid with a career-high 21 points (11-of-12 FT) to go with seven rebounds.
- Klarke Sconiers followed with 17 points (9-of-10 FT) and three rebounds while Chloe Wilson pulled down a career- and game-high 15 rebounds.
- With her career performance, Cherisier was named CAA Rookie of the Week after averaging 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game in UD's 1-1 week. Her stellar performance included shooting 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from the field and an impressive 92.9 percent (13-of-14) from the free throw line.
- This weekly honor is Cherisier's first of her career and third for the program this season.
- Darrionna Howard garnered top rookie honors and Tara Cousins took home the top player accolade earlier this season.

- Wilson ranks third in free throws made (77), fourth in free throws attempted (101) and 10th in free throw percentage (76.2).
- Sconiers sits in fourth in blocks (25), seventh in blocks per game (1.32) and ninth in free throw percentage (77.8).
- Tara Cousins ranks fourth in three-point attempts (115) and ninth in three-point percentage (33.0) and three-pointers per game (2.11) while Sydney Boone ranks seventh in steals per game (1.79).
- The last time out for the Blue Hens was Friday evening against Drexel.
- Delaware dropped a 53-49 road decision to the Dragons.
- Chloe WIlson paced the Blue Hens by posting her 15th career, fourth on the season, double-double with a 17-point (8-of-14 FG) and 10-rebound outing.
- Sydney Boone (3-of-7 FG) and Klarke Sconiers (3-of-5 FG) each added seven points off the bench.
- Delaware will look to extend its winning streak against the Pride to 17 games.

- In the eight games Hofstra has played, the Pride captured a win over UNCW but suffered losses at the hands of William & Mary (two games), Northeastern, Drexel, Elon and Hampton.
vs. Drexel
- The Blue Hens are tasked to take on the Dragons for its 95th all-time meeting, 80th meeting in conference play and the third time head coaches Sarah Jenkins and Amy Mallon will be meeting since taking the reigns of their respective programs.
- Delaware holds the 52-42 record while sporting a 22-20 mark in Philadelphia, including hoisting up its third CAA championship inside Daskalakis Athletic Center.
- The Blue Hens will look to stop its losing streak to the Dragons at two games while extending its current winning streak to two.
- This game also serves as one of two regular-season meetings this year.
- The last time Delaware and Drexel met inside Daskalakis Athletic Center, the Dragons walked away with a 73-57 victory. The Blue Hens were paced by Michelle Ojo and Sconiers combining for 25 points.
- The last time the Blue Hens were victorious in Philadelphia against Drexel was when the team won the 2022 CAA Championship by a score of 63-59 with Blue Hen alum Jasmine Dickey being crowned Most Outstanding Player on March 13, 2022.
- In a regular season matchup, the Blue & Gold walked away with a 66-55 road win on Feb. 14, 2021.
- This will be the 83th time in program history Delaware and Hofstra will duke it out against one another with the Blue Hens holding the 70-12 record, 63-11 CAA record and a 29-10 mark in New York.
- The Blue Hens are on a 16 game winning streak against the Pride including walking away with the 65-54 road win on Feb. 17, 2023. Sconiers led the way with 16 points on an efficient 6-7 shooting and perfect from the free throw line (4-4) to go along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Nakiyah Mays-Prince followed with 13 points (5-7 FG) and six assists. Cousins poured in 10 points and tied her career-best seven rebounds.
- This will be head coaches Jenkins' and Danielle Santos Atkinson's third time facing one another since taking over their respective program, Atkinson's nine time overall against the program.
- This will be the only regular-season matchup between the Blue Hens and the Pride.
