RICHMOND, Va. – Men's lacrosse senior Mike Robinson was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week after a seven-goal performance over the weekend, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Fifty-four seconds into Saturday's contest against Lafayette, Robinson scored his first of four goals in the first quarter. His scoring barrage continued into the second and sparked an 11-0 run for the Blue Hens to open the 2024 season.
Robinson's seven goals were a team-high and the most for a Blue Hens player since he himself scored seven against Marist in Delaware's 25-10 win in the 2023 NCAA First Round game. It was the fifth time in his career that Robinson tallied at least seven or more goals in a game.
This is the fourth time in his career the Peterborough, Ont. native has garnered the league's weekly player of the week honor and first time since 2022.
Robinson and the rest of the Blue Hens return to action on Saturday, Feb. 17 as UD heads to Queens, N.Y. for a bout with St. John's and the Red Storm.
