Softball's Game Against Florida Gulf Coast On Sunday, Feb. 18 Canceled Due To Inclement Weather

FORT MYERS, Fla. - University of Delaware's softball game against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, Feb. 18 has been canceled due to inclement weather.Â
Delaware went 3-1 in the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational, with two wins coming against Middle Tennessee State University and a win against Akron. Emily Winburn pitched a shutout on Friday to lead Delaware to a 2-0 win, while Delaware's offense exploded on Saturday in two games, combining for 27 runs in a doubleheader sweep. Julia Boyet had a walk-off sacrifice fly in the eighth inning against Akron, and Sydney Shaffer drove in six runs, including hitting a three-run home run in a 13-12 win. Blantz and Costaro both hit home runs in the second game against Middle Tennessee State, and Julz Garber picked up four hits.Â
Delaware next heads to the Rawlings Classic, hosted by University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. Delaware will play Iowa State and Virginia on Feb. 23, Iowa State and Lehigh on Feb. 24, and Virginia on Feb. 25.Â
