McCurry Named CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Men's lacrosse attackman John McCurry was named the CAA Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
In the Blue Hens' season opener against Lafayette, McCurry had 13 shots with four on frame but could not find the back of the net. Then on Saturday against St. John's, not only did the freshman score his first career goal in the 17th minute of the contest, he recorded his first career hat trick, scoring all three goals in the second quarter.
The Wall, N.J. native, tallied his first career assist and totaled four points on the day in Delaware's 17-6 win over the Johnnies, helping the Blue Hens improve to 2-0 on the year.
McCurry and the No. 14-ranked Blue Hens are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 24 as Delaware heads to Philly for a battle with Penn. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
