ARLINGTON, Va. - The University of Delaware baseball team picked up a midweek win by a score of 18-3 against George Washington on Tuesday, March 19.

With the win, the Blue Hens record improves to 9-10

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

The Blue Hens went (18-of-42) from the plate on Saturday. They drove in 18 RBI's, walked 11 times and struck out 10 times.
The Blue Hens had 5 players with multiple hits and had 13 players record hits. Eric Ludman went 2-of-4 from the plate, hit a triple and drove in 5 RBI's. Aidan Kane went 2-for-4 as well, and hit a grand slam, driving in 4 RBI's in the process
Nate Rolka started the game for the Blue Hens and was recited with the decision. He pitched 5.0 innings, gave up two earned off three hits, walked four batters and struck out four. In relief were Owen Margolis, Christian Colmary and Anthony Gubitosi.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Hens got on the board in the top of the fourth thanks to a sacrifice fly from Brett Lesher. His sacrifice fly started a 7 inning rally in which Bryce Greenly, Tanner Donati, Eric Ludman and Jake Dunion drove in runs.
The rally continued in the fifth starting with a solo home run from Tyler Leach, followed by a Donati sacrifice fly, a Joey Loynd single and a Ludman triple to increase the Blue Hen lead to 12-1.
UD finished off the day with a grand slam from Kane in the top of the ninth.

GAME NOTES

UD is now 13-17 all time against George Washington.

UP NEXT

Conference play starts this week for Delaware as the Blue Hens travel to Buies Creek, N.C. for a weekend series against Campbell from March 22-24.
