Men’s Golf Finishes Strong at Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

SNOW HILL, N.C. – The University of Delaware men's golf team carded a spring-best round of 8-under par 280 on Sunday to finish strong at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by Elon. The Blue Hens finished the three-day tournament at 15-over par 879 to finish 11th in the 15-team field at the Cutter Creek Golf Club (Par 72 / 7,147 yards).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Hens totaled 49 birdies and an eagle over the three rounds, including 23 birdies on Sunday when the team turned in its second-best round of the season. The 8-under par on Sunday climbed the Blue & Gold three spots in the team standings.
Nerpin totaled 12 birdies for the tournament, including five on Friday and four on Sunday. He had three birdies and eagled the par-five 11th hole on Saturday.
Areephun carded a 1-over par on Saturday before playing a bogey-free round at Sunday, finishing with two birdies to climb seven spots in the standings.
Homer launched 29 spots up the individual rankings on Sunday when he carded a career-best 4-under par 68 with five birdies. He totaled nine birdies for the tournament.
Ariyachatvakin also shot up the standings on Sunday with four birdies and a 1-under par 71.
Zubov and Halleron tied for 70th overall. Both had four birdies on Sunday and Halleron added five more on Saturday.

UP NEXT
Delaware is right back in action on Monday, playing in the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. The three-day tournament will be held April 1-3 at True Blue Golf Club.
