Baseball Dropped Series Opener Against Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The University of Delaware baseball team dropped a Coastal Athletic Association game to Stony Brook 3-2 on Friday
With the loss, the Blue Hens overall record is 25-22 and 12-10 in CAA play.

Five Blue Hens recorded hits today, Bryce Greenly (1-for-4, 2B, RBI) Eric Ludman (1-for-3, 2B, HBP), Aaron Graeber (1-for-4), Chris Dengler (1-for-3) and Brett Lesher (1-for-3, 2B).

Starting on the mound was Doug Marose. He pitched in five innings, allowed three earned runs off six hits, walked one batter and struck out four. In relief was Eli Atiya. He pitched the final three innings, didn't allow any runs, just one hit, walked and struck out a batter.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ

The Seawolves got on the board with runs in the fourth and fifth innings to make it 3-0.Â

UD responded with a two run top of the seventh inning. Greenly drove in a run off a double, and Joey Loynd drove in Ludman off a sacrifice fly.Â

The Blue Hens had a runner on base in the top of the ninth because of a hit by pitch off Ludman. However, UD was not able to capture any runs to close the game out.
