NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team were victims of Charleston's defensive prowess on Sunday, falling 58-45. The Blue Hens fall to 4-13, while the Cougars improve to 13-5.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware shot 54-percent from three in the first half.
The Hens had three scorers in double-figures: Ella Wanzer (12), Chloe Wilson (12), and Rebecca Demeke (11).

HOW IT HAPPENED

At the initial media stoppage with 4:41 to go in the first, the Hens held a 12-11 lead. UD took a 23-18 advantage into the second quarter after shooting 69-percent in the opening frame.
After a brief 5-0 run for the visitors, the game sat even at 23 with 7:43 until halftime. Heading into the locker room, the Cougars held a three-point lead, holding UD scoreless for the final 3:39 of the second quarter.
Charleston led 43-34 with 4:41 to play in the third quarter. Both teams had scoring droughts of over two minutes midway through the third frame with the Blue & Gold's lasting 3:49. The home team went the entire third quarter without a field goal.
The lead for the Cougars reached as high as 16 in the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTES

Sunday's contest marked just the second loss all-time at home against the Cougars, moving the Hens record to 8-2.
