Field Hockey's Merashoff Earns Third-Consecutive Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - University of Delaware field hockey goalie Kristi Merashoff earned her third-consecutive Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week plaudit, the conference announced Tuesday.Â

Merashoff earned the award after helping the Fightin' Blue Hens defeat Towson (1-0) and Drexel (2-1) over the past weekend.Â
Â
The graduate student defeated the Tigers in her hometown of Towson, Md., blanking the offense while saving two shots.
Â
In the final game of the weekend, the Hens took on Drexel, where Merashoff stopped six shots, including a penalty stroke.
Â
She now has three penalty stroke saves on the season, which is the most in a season by a Blue Hen in recorded history.

The Blue Hens remain on the road for their next contest, taking on Wake Forest in Winston Salem, N.C. on Sunday, October 12, at noon.
