Men's Soccer Clinches Postseason Play with Win Over St. Thomas

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team clinched a spot in the 2025 Summit League Championship Tournament with it's 1-0 win over St. Thomas at Grant Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens' overall record becomes 12-1-2, and their conference record improves to 3-1-1.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Mikey Johnson scored for the Hens.
- This was Johnson's 16th career goal and 11th this season.
- Joe Richards and Charles Giordano assisted Johnson's first half goal.
- JoJo Elliott Jr. started in goal for the Hens and recorded his ninth clean sheet of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 22nd minute of play, Johnson found the back of the net off of assists from Giordano and Richards.
- Elliott Jr. made three saves on the day to keep the Tommies from scoring.
GAME NOTES
- Johnson's goal tied the program record for most team goals in a single season at 45.
- Delaware finished the regular season with an undefeated home record of 8-0.
- With today's shutout, the team broke the single-season shutouts record with 10. Elliott Jr. is currently tied the program record for individual goalkeeper shutouts (9).
UP NEXT
The men's soccer program will take on Kansas City on Wednesday, November 5th, for its last regular season game. First kick is at 3 p.m.
The game will be streamed on the Summit League Network.
