Football’s Duplessis and Thaw Named to 2025 CUSA Football All-Academic Team

DALLAS — University of Delaware football WR Kyre Duplessis and WR Jake Thaw have been named to the 2025 CUSA Football All-Academic Team, the league office announced Friday. The two graduate students are two of the 12 members of the squad, and Delaware is the only school to have multiple student-athletes named to the list.
Duplessis, a statistics major from Woodbridge, Va., posts a 3.5 cumulative GPA. He joined the Fightin' Blue Hens prior to the 2025 campaign and quickly blossomed into a go-to option for the Blue Hen offense, starting all 10 games, while reeling in the third-most receptions (48) and fourth-most yards (639) in Conference USA at the time of receiving this honor. Duplessis has plans to become a cetologist after graduating from Delaware.
Thaw, an international business master's candidate with a 3.97 cumulative GPA, is in his second season with UD. He has appeared and started in eight games in 2025, catching 23 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown. The Staples, Conn. native was also named to the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List and a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy earlier this season. This is his sixth academic honor of his career and his fourth time being named academic all-conference.
The University of Delaware is ranked in the top 1.6% globally, among nearly 21,000 institutions, based on educational quality, employability, faculty quality and research. In late 2024, Wall Street Journal ranked UD at No. 10 among public universities and No. 26 among all U.S. universities based on student professional readiness and career outcomes.
