Three-Point Barrage Leads Men’s Basketball to Victory Against UNCG, 73-60

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A barrage of 13 three-pointers led the University of Delaware men's basketball team past UNC Greensboro, 73-60, on Tuesday to close out the Jacksonville Classic. The Fightin' Blue Hens move to 2-4 overall with the Spartans dropping to 1-5.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware shot a season-best 52-percent from long range (13-of-25).
- UD won the rebounding battle 36-30.
- Tyler Houser led all players with 24 points and 10 rebounds for his second-career double-double. The forward went 9-of-12 overall, including a perfect 6-of-6 from downtown.
- Christian Bliss also recorded a double-double on 17 points and a career-high 11 assists. He also added six rebounds and a career-best three steals to his stat line.
- Macon Emory poured in 18 points to tie his career mark and added five boards.
- Justyn Fernandez rounded out the cohort of double-figure scorers with 12 points. He tacked on seven rebounds, two steals, two assists, and a block.
- Delaware scored the first five points of the game before its opponent answered with five unanswered of its own. Knotted at seven apiece, the Spartans ripped off a 14-0 margin over 3:34 to push ahead 19-7 with 9:42 left in the half. Using a barrage of three-pointers, UD took a 17-7 run over 6:50 to pull within two at 26-24 with 2:52 on the clock. The Hens went 5-for-7 from long range with 11 points coming from Houser on the run. It remained a two-point game at the break with UNCG up 29-27.
- After a pair of ties over the opening four minutes of the second half, the Blue & Gold took a 41-38 lead with at the 14:45 mark and never lost the lead. UNCG pulled within a possession on a few occasions, but a late Hens' run solidified the victory.
- Houser's six-consecutive made threes are tied for the second most in program history.
- The last time UD had two players with a double-double was Christian Ray and Jyáre Davis at Elon on February 15, 2024.
- UD moves to 92-23 under Martin Ingelsby when holding opponents under 70 points.
