NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team fell Monday night to hot-shooting Iona, 89-66. The Fightin' Blue Hens dip to 2-5, while the Gaels advance to 6-2.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Macon Emory tied his career high with 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-3 from long range. He added seven rebounds to his line.
Tyler Houser tallied his second-consecutive double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Christian Bliss rounded out a cohort of double-digit scorers with 13 points and added five assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The teams traded the first 16 points heading into the first media stoppage at 15:39 of the opening frame. More of the same heading into the under-eight timeout with UD ahead 26-25 at the 7:29 mark. A 14-7 advantage for the Gaels the rest of the way for a 39-33 lead heading into the locker room.
After falling behind by as many as seven, the Hens pulled within two at 44-42 after a Bliss 3-pointer at 16:01, however Iona answered with a 12-2 run over 4:11 to push the gap to 56-44 at the under-12 timeout with 11:51 remaining. Iona took control the rest of the way to come out on top.
