Men's Swimming & Diving's Namakonov Earns ASUN Men's Swimmer of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - University of Delaware men's swimming & diving's Matvei Namakonov has been named the ASUN Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Namakonov received his second weekly award of the season after winning all eight events he competed in at the Bucknell Invitational.
Â
He is currently ranked 12th in the country in the 100-breast at 51.47, maintaining his NCAA standard time, and set a pool record in that race in Lewisburg.
Â
The senior took wins in both 50-free races, with a season best of 19.69 in the finals, being the only swimmer to swim under 20 seconds in that race.

Namakonov was part of two relay squads that set pool records in the 200-medley relay at 1:27.00 and the 400-free relay at 2:57.46.

The Fightin' Blue Hens travel down to Florida on December 31 to compete in a tri-meet against conference foe FGCU and SMU.
