Volleyball Has Four Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware volleyball's Taylor Holly, Cadence Nguyen, Dylan Norris, and Sila Ozyurek were all named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday, Dec. 16. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests.
Holly, a medical diagnostics major, earned the honors in her first season of eligibility. She appeared in all 25 matches and played in 81 sets while averaging 1.04 digs per set with 14 total aces. She had a season-best 13 digs against FIU on Oct. 18. Holly has a cumulative GPA of 3.76.
Nguyen, a global enterprise management major, earned Academic All-District honors for the second-straight season. In her final season, Nguyen played in 23 of 25 matches with 3.66 digs per set while leading the team in aces with 27. She ranked eighth in CUSA in overall digs per set and sixth in digs per set in CUSA-only matches. To cap off her career, she recorded a career-high 33 digs against Sam Houston on Nov. 14, the most by a Delaware player since 2018 and the second most by a CUSA player in any match and recorded a double-double in final career match with 20 digs and 11 assists - the first Delaware libero with a double-double since 2018. She has a 3.63 cumulative GPA.Â
Norris, a double major studying biological sciences and psychology with a minor in women and gender studies, also earned her first Academic All-District honor. She appeared in all 25 matches with 13 starts, averaging 2.25 kills per set while hitting .246 with 0.88 blocks per set. She ranked 10th in CUSA in blocks per set in conference-only matches at 0.91. Norris has a cumulative GPA of 3.86.Â
Ozyurek, an international business major, joined the Blue Hens for her final year of eligibility after playing at UMKC. She appeared in 22 of 27 matches with 17 starts and averaged 1.12 blocks per set and 0.97 kills per set - including 1.21 blocks per set in CUSA only matches. She ranked fifth in CUSA in overall blocks per set and seventh in blocks per set in conference-only matches. Ozyurek has a 4.00 cumulative GPA.Â
