Hrynashka Picks Up CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Delaware women's tennis junior, Maryia Hrynashka has graced the CAA weekly awards list as the Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
After being ranked no. 79 on the ITA Female Division I Singles list on Wednesday, Hrynashka had a productive weekend during the team's two matches. On Friday, she took down no. 38 Ozlem Uslu of Virginia Tech in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. During Sunday's trip to Navy, Hrynashka once again defeated her opponent, Kate Lee, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Hrynashka is a veteran junior for the squad. Last spring she received many conference accolades such as spots on the All-CAA Second Team for doubles and All-CAA Third Team for singles after finishing her 2024 CAA play undefeated.
She has continued to shatter program records, with her newest achievement being ranked the highest individually rated female athlete. Over the 2024 fall, she accumulated a 9-3 singles record and 11-2 doubles record with partner Paulina Jurkowska. This spring Hrynashka has put up a singles record of 5-1.
Hrynashka and her squad will take on FDU on Feb. 21 for a home matchup at Wilmington Country Club.
