Lanes' Career Day Not Enough for Men’s Basketball on Senior Day Against Hofstra

NEWARK, Del. – Niels Lane tallied a career game on Senior Day for University of Delaware men's basketball, but it wasn't enough to secure the win as the Blue Hens (12-17, 5-11 CAA) fell to Hofstra (13-16, 5-11 CAA) Saturday afternoon, 78-65.

Prior to the game, the program honored graduating seniors Tahron Allen, Niels Lane, Erik Timko, and managers Justin Kobrin, Andrew Lucking, and Jared Shein.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Lane recorded the second double-double of his career with a career-best 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Izaiah Pasha registered 12 points, three assists, three rebounds, and two steals.
The Hens won the rebounding margin (+2).

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Pride held the edge 11-7 at the first media break. Hofstra built the lead to as many as 15 before the Hens stormed back with a 16-2 margin over the final 6:06, including the last eight points of the first half, to close it to 34-33 heading into the locker room.
Hofstra had the opening bucket of the second half to push to lead to four. After a pair of UD free throws made it was a two-point game. The Pride scored the next eight points and it was all but over as the Blue & Gold couldn't pull it within one possession the rest of the way.

GAME NOTES

Delaware drops to 0-13 when trailing at the half this season.
