HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – University of Delaware women's lacrosse dominated Hofstra in its CAA opener Friday evening with a 15-9 win. The Blue Hens advance to 5-3 overall, 1-0 in CAA play, while the Pride dip to 5-3, 0-1 CAA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware won the turnover battle with a +1 margin.
Delaney McDaniel registered six points on four scores and two helpers.
Ella Rishko also had six points with five goals and one assist.
Morgan Gore completed posted three goals, four draw controls, and one assist.
Callie Drab notched two points on one goal and one assist.
Halen Saroney and Lulu Rishko each tallied a goal.
Sam Paradise finished with a game-high six draw controls.
Steph Marszal (3-2) picks up the win with nine saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware jumped out to a commanding 6-1 lead after one quarter.
The momentum continued into the second stanza, with UD taking a 5-1 advantage for a 11-2 lead at the half.
The teams traded scores in the third period.
The Pride cut into the deficit with a 6-3 margin in the final frame but couldn't overcome the gap.
