Vasilenko & Kack Named CAA Doubles Team of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Delaware women's tennis duo Alina Vasilenko & Cornelia Kack have been named the CAA Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Vasilenko & Kack earned the accolade after successfully clinching the doubles point for Delaware twice during the past weekend's matches.

On Friday against Stony Brook, the two clinched against Kristi Boro & Lorin Tillipman, 6-4. Their clinch allowed the Blue Hens to take down the Seawolves, 5-2.

During Saturday's match, the duo once again clinched against Hofstra's Abigail Higgins & Sabira Mohamed, 6-2. The Blue Hens left Long Island victorious with a final score of 6-1.

The pair have had eleven straight doubles wins this season. With an overall record of 11-2 and CAA record of 3-0, this duo is a force to be reckoned with.

Vasilenko, the Russian senior has seen a lot of success this spring with a singles record of 11-4. Her partner, Swedish freshman Kack, has put up her own singles record of 12-1.

The doubles duo will join Delaware for a road match at no. 27 FAU on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
