Third Inning Rally and Strong Pitching Leads Baseball to CAA Victory Over Stony Brook

NEWARK, Del. – An eight run third inning and dominant team pitching led to the University of Delaware's first win of the season in Coastal Athletic Association play by a score of 8-1 on Friday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Hens overall record is 11-9 and are 1-0 in CAA play.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Aaron Graeber (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) and Jackson Tyer (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) had four of the Blue Hens seven hits and drove in four of the eight Blue Hens runs
- Ryan McLaughlin started on the mound. He pitched in three innings, allowed just one earned run off four hits, and struck out two batters . Carter Welch and Jake Pollaro pitched the final six innings. They gave up a combined two hits, no runs, and stuck out six batters. Welch earned the win and is now 2-1, Pollaro earned his second save of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rory Finn drove in Tyer off a fielder's choice to get the third inning rally started.
- Immedlately after Finn, Graeber hit a two-run home run.
- Brett Lesher doubled to right field, scoring Brett Walmsley and Aiden Stewart
- LT Cockrill drove in a run off a single.
- Jackson Tyer finished the third inning rally with a two run home run to take it 8-1.
