Areephun Ties UD Single-Round Record, Men’s Golf Places Fifth at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – Arsit Areephun carded a 7-under par 64 during the second round to tie the program record and help lead the University of Delaware men's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama. It is UD's sixth top-five finish in seven tournaments this fall. The Blue Hens turned in a three-round score of 9-over par 861 at the par-71, 7,239-yard Magnolia Grove – Falls Course.

The Blue Hens will return to the East Coast as they will begin April at the Testudo Cup, hosted by the University of Maryland. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held April 5-6 at the PB Dye Course in Ijamsville, Maryland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware tied its best team round score with a 281 during the second round, which was played over Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Hens totaled 31 birdies and three eagles over the three rounds.
- Areephun tied UD's 18-hole individual record with his 64, carding seven birdies and zero bogeys. He finished the tournament with 11 birdies for his third top-10 finish of the season.
- Nerpin had an eagle in the first round and finished with nine total birdies. He had four in each of the final two rounds as he turned in scores of 69 and 71 for his best finish of the season.
- Iampongsai carded eight birdies over the 54 holes and finished with an even-par 71 on Tuesday.
- Xin, making his collegiate debut, had two eagles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Areephun's 64 was a career-best round and his 136 over the first two rounds is tied for the fifth-best 36-hole score in program history.
- His three-round score of 209 tied for his second-best 54-hole score of his career.
