Final Results

HUMACAO, Puerto Rico – The University of Delaware men's golf team opened up the spring season at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate, hosted by UNCG. The Fightin' Blue Hens finished tied for 12th in the 14-team field with a 54-hole score of 14-over par 878. Junior Arsit Areephun carded a 10-under par over the final two rounds to climb into a tie for third in the individual standings. The three-day, three-round tournament was held at the par-72, 7,122-yard Flamboyan Course at Palmas del Mar Country Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Hens turned in the third-lowest score during Tuesday's final round, finishing at 9-under par 279 to climb into a tie for 12th place. Delaware registered 20 of it's 46 total birdies over the final 18 holes.
Areephun tied his season-low for a 54-hole score as he birdied 12 of his final 36 holes to shoot up from 38th place into a tie for third. His score of 66 in Monday's second round was a season-low. He finished with 14 total birdies.
Vuradi shot a season-best 5-under par 67 on Tuesday, recording six of his 11 total birdies, to climb 24 spots in the standings.

OF NOTE

Areephun's score of 134 over the final two rounds is tied for the fifth-best 36-hole score in program history.

UP NEXT
Delaware will return to action in late March when it travels to Williamsburg, Virginia for the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held March 23-24.
