WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – After a game-tying goal by Monmouth with eight seconds left, University of Delaware women's lacrosse secured the draw control and ran down the field for a game-winning goal by Delaney McDaniel as the horn sounded for a 10-9 win over the Hawks on Sunday. The Blue Hens advance to 6-5 overall, 2-2 CAA, while the Hawks dip to 3-9, 0-4 CAA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

McDaniel led the team with four points on two goals and two assists.
Jaclyn Marszal tallied a trio of assists.
Ella Rishko scored twice and assisted on another.
Halen Saroney registered two goals and collected three draw controls.
Riley Sturtevant tallied a pair of goals in her three shots on goal.
Kiki Grant (1G), Morgan Gore (1G), and Lulu Rishko (1A) also recorded a point.
Steph Marszal (4-4) picked up the win eight saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The teams traded goals in the first period for a 2-2 tie after one.
Monmouth scored the first two goals of the second stanza before UD claimed four of the last five to head into the locker room up 6-5.
The Blue & Gold outpaced the Hawks 2-1 in the third period to make it 8-6.
After Rishko scored the first goal of the final quarter, the home team ripped off three-unanswered goals to tie the game at nine apiece. Saroney's final draw control paved the way for the game winner by McDaniel.
