NEWARK, Del. – With Week 20 of the HeNLL in the books, the teams will head into the 21st and final weekend of play looking to secure their spot in the postseason. Every team that has a former Blue Hen on it is still alive in the hunt for the playoffs with three such teams already locking up their spot.
Owen Grant (2019-23) and the Vancouver Warriors defeated the Toronto Rock, 12-10, on Friday to punch their ticket to the playoffs. Grant scored a goal with seven loose balls and three caused turnovers.
Reed Kurtz (2020-24) picked up two loose balls as the Ottawa Black Bears took down the Las Vegas Desert Dogs, 13-10, on Saturday.
Tye Kurtz (2019-23) and the Albany FireWolves beat Jake Govett (2019-22) and the San Diego Seals, 12-10, on Saturday. Kurtz notched his third-career sock-trick (six goals) to go with two assists and five loose balls, while Govett tallied two goals with three loose balls. Cam Acchione (2021-24) remains off the Seals' active roster on the Physically Unable to Perform List. Jordan Hall (2003-07) is a member of the San Diego Seals' coaching staff, serving as the Offensive Coordinator and Director of Player Personnel., 10-4, on Friday.
Kevin Lynch (2020-23) watched his Philadelphia Wings defeat the Georgia Swarm, 16-13, on Saturday. Lynch is a member of the Wings' Practice Player List. Brett Manney (2004-08) is a member of the Philadelphia Wings' staff, serving as the Head of Youth Development.
Mike Robinson (2020-24) and the playoff-bound Halifax Thunderbirds fell to the Buffalo Bandits, 15-12 on Saturday. Robinson accounted for three points (one goal, two assists) with seven loose balls.
The Saskatchewan Rush took down the Colorado Mammoth, 11-6, on Friday. Matt Acchione (2021-24) remains on injured reserve for the Rush, who already punched their ticket to the postseason.
