Women’s Locks Up Third Seed in CAA Tournament in Win Over William & Mary

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware women's lacrosse locked up the third seed in the CAA Tournament Saturday with a 17-4 win over William & Mary. The Blue Hens advance to 10-5 overall, 6-2 CAA, while the Tribe dip to 5-9, 1-6 CAA.
Delaware finishes the season with the most conference wins since going 6-0 in the America East in 1999. It is also the first time with 10+ back-to-back win seasons since 2015 and 2016.

Delaware will play in the CAA Semifinals on Thursday, May 1.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- The Hens finished nearly perfect on clears, going 18-of-19.
- UD won the margins in both draw controls (16-9) and ground balls (14-13).
- Delaney McDaniel tallied five points on two goals and three assists.
- Ella Rishko also had five points on three scores and two assists. She added four draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers to her line.
- Halen Saroney (3G, 1A) and Jaclyn Marszal (2G, 2A) each tallied four points.
- Morgan Gore registered a hat trick with a trio of free position goals.
- Kiki Grant (2G), Callie Drab (1G), and Riley Sturtevant (1G) rounded out the scoring.
- Steph Marszal (8-4) tallied seven saves for a .636 save percentage.
- Delaware dominated the opening period with a 7-1 differential, including five-straight goals to end the quarter.
- The offenses settled down in the second stanza with the Hens up 10-2.
- A 5-3 UD advantage widened the gap in the third to 15-4.
- The Blue & Gold added two in the fourth.
- McDaniel sits seven assists away from tying the all-time CAA record.
- Rishko needs three goals to hit 100 for her career.
Delaware will play in the CAA Semifinals on Thursday, May 1.
