Baseball Defeats Saint Joseph's in Front of Sold-Out Crowd

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware baseball team defeated Saint Joseph's in front of a sold-out crowd of 1,582 people by a score of 5-1 on dollar dog night at Bob Hannah Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 22-17.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- The Blue Hens were led by strong pitching. Jonah Richardson started on the mound with Dylan Bryan, Evan Lewis, Justin Needles and Andrew Callaway following in relief. The five pitchers allowed a combined three hits, one earned run and struck out 10 batters. Richardson was awarded the win and is now 2-1 on the season.
- Offensively, the Blue Hens were led by LT Cockrill and Aiden Stewart. Both went 1-for-4 with a home run
- The Blue Hens opened the game with a bases loaded walk in the second, scoring Andrew Amato.
- Stewart hit a solo home run in the third, and Cockrill hit a two run home run in the fourth.
- The Blue Hens fifth and final run of the game came off a error on the St. Joe's pitcher on a failed pickoff attempt. Amato advanced from second to home during the sequence.
