Hrynashka, Schieroni Earn CSC Academic All-District Team Spots

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware women's tennis program had two athletes named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Team as announced on Tuesday. Graduate student Greta Schieroni and junior Maryia Hrynashka earned a spot based on their athletic and academic performance.Â
The honor recognizes the nation's top tennis student-athletes for excellence both on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. For collegiate tennis, players must also compete in at least 70% of the team's total matches that count toward team scoring during the season.Â
Schieroni joined the Blue Hen squad this fall after transferring from Lynn University. She posted an overall record of 20-4 in singles and 20-9 in doubles. Originally from Turin, Italy- she is currently earning her master's in business analytics & information management.Â
Veteran Hrynashka has made quite an impact for the Hens during the year. From the number one spot in singles, Hrynashka garnered an overall record of 21-11 in singles and 23-10 in doubles. Hailing from Rancho Cordova, Calif., Hrynashka spent five cycles included in the elite ITA singles rankings with a peak at no. 61. She also earned spots on the All-CAA Singles First Team and All-CAA Doubles Third Team. She is currently studying applied molecular biology & biotechnology with a minor in forensic science. Hrynashka has been awarded many elite research opportunities through the university and spends her off-season in the lab.Â
