Tyer Ties Program Record for Walks in a Game in Win Over Georgetown

TYSON SQUARE, Va. – Outfielder Jackson Tyer ties the program record in walks in a game as the University of Delaware baseball team defeats Georgetown by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday at Capital One Park.

Tyer walked five times on the day, tying Andrew Amato, who set the record back on April 1 against St. Joe's.

With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 26-21.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Aiden Stewart (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBI, BB), Amato (2-for-4, 2B, 4 RBI) and Matthew Minckler (2-for-5, 2B, RBI) had multi-hit games.
Ethan Shaub started the game on the mound for the Blue Hens. He pitched three innings, allowed just one hit and struck out six batters.
Dylan Bryan was credited with the win after pitching 1.2 innings with three strikeouts. He is 3-1 on the season.
Dom Velazquez earned his fourth save of the season after pitching the final three innings. He allowed just one hit and struck out one batter.

HOW IT HAPPENED

UD opened the game with a 6-0 lead.
In the third, Amato drove in two runs off a double down the left field line.
In the fifth, Stewart hit a two-run home run, as well as two runs scored off fielder's choices. Tanner Donati and Minckler were credited with RBI's.
After the Hoyas took a 7-6 lead, Amato responded with another two RBIs, this time off a single down the left field line.

UP NEXT
UD travels to Monmouth, N.J. to play Coastal Athletic Association foe Monmouth for a three-game series.
