Four Blue Hens Appointed to All-CAA Teams

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Delaware women's tennis saw four athletes make their way onto the All-CAA team rosters, the league announced on Friday. Maryia Hrynashka garnered a spot on the All-CAA First Team Singles roster and All-CAA Third Team Doubles roster alongside partner Paulina Jurkowska, who also earned a spot on the All-CAA Third Team Singles list. Alina Vasilenko collected a spot on the All-CAA Second Team Singles roster and the All-CAA Third Team Doubles roster with partner Cornelia Kack.Â
Hrynashka earned her honor after recording an overall singles record of 21-11 with a dual record of 12-8. She spent five cycles on the elite ITA National Singles Rankings, where she peaked at No. 61. Hrynashka competed all her matches from the No. 1 spot, where she defeated two ranked individuals: No. 27 Sabine Rutlaka from Penn and No. 28 Ozlem Uslu from Virginia Tech. Â
Jurkowska posted an overall singles record of 24-10 with a dual record of 15-7 from the No. 3 spot. In doubles play, she was a force to be reckoned with alongside Hrynashka, as the pair collected an overall record of 21-10, going 10-8 in duals from the No. 1 spot. Their success was a large contributor to the Blue Hens' dual doubles winning-percentage of .731.Â
Vasilenko joins her teammates on the awards list with an overall singles record of 17-10 and a dual record of 14-8. She played the majority of the season from the No. 2 spot with a successful win from the No. 1 spot during the match against Fairleigh Dickinson. She earned recognition with Kack after picking up a 16-5 record with a 3-1 record from the No. 1 spot and 13-4 record from the No. 2 spot.Â
