Three Blue Hens Named to the CSC Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, Del. - Andrew Amato, Elias Conway and Ryan McLaughlin from the University of Delaware baseball team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, a player must carry a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore academically. Position players must also play in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start in at least two-thirds of them to qualify. For pitchers, eligible nominees need to pitch 35-plus innings or appear in 17 games as a pitcher.

Amato appeared and started in all 53 games for the Blue Hens, posting a .299 batting average, .447 on base percentage and a .564 slugging percentage, hitting 11 home runs and driving in 48 runs. He was one of three batters on the Blue Hens with an OPS over 1.000 (1.005) and led the team in walks (49)

Conway appeared in 15 games and made eight starts during the 2025 season. In 35.1 innings pitched, Conway had a 4.84 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP and struck out 34 batters. Opponents hit .202 off Conway when he was on the mound.Â

McLaughlin appeared in 17 games and made 11 starts for the Blue Hens in 2025. He led the Blue Hens in innings pitched at 46.2 and was second in strikeouts at 48.Â
