NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Men's Golf Head Coach Brendon Post has announced that addition of Drew Coble to the coaching staff as an assistant coach. Coble joins the Fightin' Blue Hens after a decorated playing career at Grand Valley State University. He will officially assume the role on August 1.
"We're excited to welcome Drew Coble to our golf program as our new assistant coach," Post said. "As a talented player with a strong understanding of the game, he brings fresh energy and perspective to the team. This is his first step into coaching, and we're confident his passion and knowledge will make an immediate impact."
Coble was a student-athlete for the Lakers for six years and was a six-time all-conference performer, including four selections to the All-GLIAC First Team. He was named the GLIAC Golfer of the Year in each of his final two seasons and was the GLIAC Freshman of the Year in 2021. Coble earned four PING All-Region honors and was a PING First Team All-American, as well as a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus DII National Player of the Year in 2024. He also earned PING Second Team All-America honors in 2025. Off the golf course, Coble was named a CSC Academic All-American in both 2024 and 2025 and five-time GLIAC All-Academic recipient.
Over the course of his career, Coble competed in 60 tournaments and finished with six wins and 28 total top-10 finishes. He holds the GVSU record for a single round, carding a 7-under par 64 at the 2021 GLIAC Championship.
"Firstly, I want to thank Patty and Brendon Post as well as Jackie Mullens and Kyle Koch for an exceptional interview process and giving me this opportunity to coach the student-athletes at the University of Delaware," Coble said. "I quickly realized early in the interview process that the support that the athletic department gives our student-athletes is unmatched which made UD stand out to me. I am excited to get to work with our student-athletes, and to continue to build on the success Patty and Brendon have already built at the University of Delaware."
A native of Lake Orion, Michigan, Coble received his degree in sport management from Grand Valley State in December 2023, graduating with cum laude honors. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in communications.
