Men's Lacrosse Welcomes 2026 Newcomers

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Ben DeLuca officially welcomed the newcomers for the 2026 season.
"Our coaching staff is excited to welcome these young men to the University of Delaware's Class of 2029," DeLuca said. "We believe this group addresses key areas of need for our program while enhancing the toughness, athleticism, and skill of our team. Off of the field, they each bring strong character, a competitive edge, and a relentless work ethic. We are thrilled to officially welcome these young men and their families to the Fightin' Blue Hens Lacrosse program."
The 12-member class, which is made up of all freshmen, features recruits from Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
#6 Scott Conte | Faceoff | Fr. | Wayne, N.J. | Don Bosco Prep
Bio: Graduated from Don Bosco Prep in 2025… Was a four-year starter in high school… Named First Team all-conference, First Team All-County, and First Team All-Non Public... Helped team to win four conference championships, four county championships, and the 2024 NJ State Championship... Holds the all-time record for faceoff wins at Don Bosco Prep (856)... Won 67-percent of faceoffs in high school… Played for BBL Elite Club Team, earning First Team All-World WSYL honors and a top-20 team ranking nationally… Son of Anthony and Dara Conte… Has a brother, AJ, and a sister, Maddie… Mother, Dara, played soccer at West Chester (1994-96) and Moravian (1996-98).

Bio: Graduated from John Glenn High School in 2025… Was a five-year lacrosse player and two-year football player in high school… Named All-American and Attack Man of the Year (2025), Honorable Mention All-American (2024), and All-County (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025)... Also named All-County and All-State in football… Holds the all-time record for points at John Glenn High School (361)... Played for 91 Shock Lacrosse Club Team… Ranked as a four-star recruit (25th in the country) by Inside Lacrosse… Son of Eric and Josephine Triolo… Has two sisters, Jenna and Krista.
#19 Eli Pounds | Goalie | Fr. | Ridgewood, N.J. | Ridgewood
Bio: Graduated from Ridgewood High School in 2025… Was a one-year starter in high school… Named First Team All-County (2025), First Team All-League (2025), First Team All-State (2025), and NJ New Balance All-American (2023, 2024)... Also played football and basketball… Won the NJ State Championship in 2023… Had a save percentage of 63-percent with eight career-game with double-digit saves... Played for MLC Club Team… Son of Michael and Catherine Pounds… Has three brothers, Evan, Noah, and Ben.

Bio: Graduated from Landon School in 2025… Was a four-year starter in high school… Helped lead Landon to back-to-back IAC Championship victories (2024, 2025)... Also an All-IAC linebacker in football, playing three seasons and a team captain… Won 2023 IAC Championship in football... Played for Next Level Club Team… Son of John and Kelly Lugar… Has two brothers, Preston and Griffin… Brother, Preston, plays lacrosse at Navy.

Bio: Graduated from Palmer Ridge High School in 2025… Was a four-year starter in high school… Ranked 54th in the country by the National Lacrosse Federation (NLF) in 2023… Named a four-star recruit by Inside Lacrosse… Named USILA Academic All-American (2025), ADRLN All-American (2025), First Team all-conference (2021-25), and First Team All-State (2024-25)… Was an Inside Lacrosse All-Star and One Percent Showcase All-Star… Tallied the most caused turnovers in Palmer Ridge history, averaging 4.375 per game to go with 4.5 ground balls per game… Played for Team 91 Colorado/National and Kings Lacrosse Club Teams… Son of Thor and Trish Eells… Has three brothers, Christian, Kevin, and Ryan, and one sister, Caitlin… Brother, Kevin, played lacrosse at Canisius, while brother, Christian, played lacrosse at Air Force.

Also played soccer… Led team in points his senior year... Played for Looney's Club and Old Line Elite Club… Son of Dan and Annemarie Joerres… Has two brothers, Andy and Nick, and one sister, Addison. Brother, Andy, played lacrosse at Towson, while sister, Addison, plays lacrosse at Xavier… Father, Dan, ran track at Minnesota.

Bio: Graduated from Urbana High School in 2025… Was a four-year starter and two-time captain in high school… Earned 2025 Kelly Award (4A Maryland Most Outstanding Player), 2025 Frederick County Defensive Player of the Year, and was named Maryland Public School First Team twice… Helped lead Urbana to back-to-back Maryland 4A State Championship victories in 2024 and 2025… Set school records in career starts (77) and caused turnovers (89)...
