Cross Country Opened Season with First Place Finish at Mount St. Mary's Dual

EMMITSBURG, Md. – The University of Delaware cross country team took first place in its first competition of the year at the Mount St. Mary's 5K duals on Friday.
The Fightin' Blue Hens finished in first place out of eight teams with 30 points.

The Blue Hens travel to Huntsville, Ala. to compete in the Huntsville Invitational on Friday, September 12. The course the Blue Hens are competing at is the same course they'll compete at for the CUSA Championships on November 1.
The Fightin' Blue Hens finished in first place out of eight teams with 30 points.
RESULTS
- Ella Peterson led the way and finished in second place (18:39.98).
- Leah Clear (18:49.91 and Erin McGoey (18:51.37) finished after Peterson and earned fourth and sixth place.
- Gabby Thiry (19:03.56) and Tiffany Herrera (19:15.71) rounded out the Blue Hens top five finishers and earned eighth and 10th place.
- Delana Einreinhofer (19:16.14) Kamila Soja (19:24.98), Lauren Thomas (19:25.40), Cassidy Donovan (19:54.91), Libby Demichele (20:05.14), Catherine Richards (20:40.18) and Stephanie Herrera (20:48.08) also competed at today's meet.
