Football Hosts UConn on Saturday for First FBS Home Game

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football team will host the UConn Huskies on Saturday, September 13 at 3 p.m. at Delaware Stadium. It is the first time Delaware will host a member of the FBS as a member of the bowl subdivision.

ABOUT THE HENS
- Delaware enters the contest 1-1, coming off a 31-7 loss at Colorado.
- QB Nick Minicucci notched his first-career 300-yard passing game against the Buffaloes, throwing for 312 yards and a touchdown. He has set career-bests in passing yards in back-to-back weeks and leads the team with 582 yards and four touchdown passes.
- Last week, Delaware's total offense (396) nearly mirrored that of Colorado's (398), and the Blue Hens passing offense (312) was more productive than the Buffs (268).
- RB Jo Silver, a preseason Doak Walker Award Candidate, leads UD's rushing attack with 86 yards on the season.
- The Fightin' Blue Hens have a trio of wide receivers with over 100 yards in 2025, including Jake Thaw (177), Ja'Carree Kelly (105), and Kyre Duplessis (102).
- On defense, linebackers Dillon Trainer and Gavin Moul lead the Hens in tackles with 16 and 15, respectively.
- Delaware is averaging 3.5 sacks per contest after last week's five-sack performance against the Big 12's Colorado.
- DE Noah Matthews has the best run defense grade among Conference USA DEs (80.5) and is 15th in the nation, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
- OL Fintan Brose is the highest-graded pass blocking center in CUSA and 22nd-best in the country according to PFF (83.7).
ABOUT THE HUSKIES
- UConn is led by former NFL head coach Jim Mora. Mora is in his fourth season at the helm of the Huskies, holding a 19-21 record.
- The Huskies enter the contest 1-1, coming off a 27-20 overtime loss to Syracuse.
- UConn's offense is led by QB Joe Fagnano, who has 519 yards passing and three touchdowns on the season.
- WR Skyler Bell leads the team with 240 receiving yards on 15 catches and two touchdowns.
- RB Cam Edwards and RB Mel Brown pack a one-two punch on the ground, each having over 150 yards rushing this season.
- On defense, a trio of linebackers have over 10 tackles this season: Oumar Diomande (16), Bryun Parham (14), and Tyquan King (12).
