EMMITSBURG, Md. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team topped Mount St. Mary's 4-0 on the road on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens overall record becomes 7-0-0, which is the best start in program history.
"The team, coaches and our entire support staff should be proud of this achievement," head coach Tommy McMenemy said. "It's been a tough process to cultivate a winning mentality, so to make a bit of history along the way is special and should be celebrated. No-one can take this away from the boys, and to do it in the 100th year of program history is even better. More importantly we can now put that to the side and focus on sharpening up for the start of conference play. We know the games will get harder, and we need to improve certain things to be ready for that, but the focus and work rate in the group is excellent, and we feel we can still reach that next level."
