Football Falls to Colorado to Drop to 1-1

BOULDER, Colo. – The University of Delaware football team fell to the Colorado Buffaloes, 31-7, Saturday afternoon at Folsom Field. The Fightin' Blue Hens drop to 1-1, while the Buffs advance to 1-1.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- QB Nick Minicucci finished with a career-high 312 passing yards, one touchdown pass, and one interception. The 67-yard completion to WR Ja'Carree Kelly marked the longest throw and catch of their careers. Kelly's 83 receiving yards also set a career-best mark.
- RB Jo Silver tallied 47 rushing yards to go with 12 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
- Three Delaware players recorded their first-career sack: DE Brandon Gorham (0.5), DE Kaeden Singleton, and DT Trace Scott III.
- WR Sean Wilson hauled in a career-high 47 receiving yards.
- S Mysonne Pollard set a career-high in tackles with six, while S KT Seay tied his career-mark with seven.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colorado struck first with a nine-yard rushing touchdown to go up 7-0 with 5:33 remaining in the opening quarter.
- The Buffaloes tacked on a 28-yard field goal to make it 10-0 with 13:03 to go in the first half.
- The Hens orchestrated a seven-play, 80-yard drive in 2:54, capped off by a four-yard touchdown pass from Minicucci to Silver to cut it to 10-7 with 45 seconds to go in the second quarter.
- The home team answered back immediately with a six-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 36 seconds, resulting in a 21-yard touchdown to make it 17-7 at the half.
- Colorado opened the second half with a 71-yard touchdown to make it 24-7.
- The Buffaloes added another touchdown in the fourth quarter to go up 31-7.
GAME NOTES
- Saturday's game marked the first time Delaware took on a current or all-time member of the Big 12.
- Gorham and WR Nick Tyree each played their first-collegiate game. Tyree brought in his first-career reception for 16 yards and added nine yards on the ground.
