NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Head Women's Soccer Coach Kelly Lawrence announced the hiring of Adam Richardson as an Assistant Coach/Director Program Operations on Friday, February 13. Richardson joins the Fightin' Blue Hens squad as they ramp up their spring training schedule.
"A proud Blue Hen, Adam brings a deep understanding of this athletic department, its standards, and what it means to represent the University of Delaware, " Lawrence said. "His connection to the institution and appreciation for the culture make him a strong addition to the staff. Adam adds a sharp analytical perspective, a high level of organizational reliability, and a clear servant-leader mindset. He will support all soccer operations and take on a significant role in overseeing team travel and logistics. Adam has already made a positive impact, and the staff has strong belief in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and success of the program."
Richardson joins the staff with recent experience as an assistant coach at John Carroll School in Bel Air, Md., competing in the challenging Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) "A" Conference. He has also coached for the Pipeline Soccer Club on the boys' side.
A 2024 graduate of the University of Delaware, Adam served as a Freshman Fest Leader with UD Hillel and as Brotherhood Chair for the Beta Theta Pi (Theta Alpha Chapter). He brings a strong commitment to service and community, along with valuable leadership experience.
On the athletics side at UD, he was involved with the men's soccer program as a student manager under current men's soccer coach Tommy McMenemy. He also worked with the athletic marketing staff as an intern.
Richardson played for C. Milton Wright High School in Bel Aire, Md. and was a four-year starter.
