Women's Soccer Announces Schedule for 2026 Season

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware Head Women's Soccer Coach Kelly Lawrence has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2026 regular season on Monday. The Fightin' Blue Hens will play 18 games, 11 of which will be at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.Ā
Of the 18 opponents on the schedule, seven will be for the first time in Delaware's four seasons under Lawrence.Ā
Prior to the start of the regular season, UD will play two exhibition contests at Rider (Aug. 5) and at Marshall (Aug. 9).
Delaware will open its 2026 campaign with five-straight home games, which starts against George Washington on August 15. It is the first time the two programs have met since 2018 and it will be GW's first visit to Grant Stadium since 2015, and resulted in a 3-1 Blue Hen victory.
The homestand will continue with matchups against VCU (Aug. 20), Navy (Aug. 23), Towson (Aug. 27) and UMBC (Aug. 30). Delaware played Navy, Towson and UMBC on the road last season and boasted a 2-0-1 record, with wins over the Midshipmen and Retrievers.
The Blue Hens first road contest of the season is at Bucknell (Sept. 3). It will be their second road game against the Bison in three years.Ā
Delaware will return home for a contest and host Georgetown (Sept. 10). It is the first time the Blue Hens have hosted the Hoyas since 2017. Georgetown advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament last season as a No. 2 seed.Ā
The following week, UD will play back-to-back road games at Drexel (Sept. 13) and Villanova (Sept. 17), and will finish non-conference play with a home game at Columbia (Sept. 20). It is the first time the Blue Hens face off against the Lions in program history.Ā
Delaware will open its second season in Conference USA with a home game against Missouri State (Sept. 27). The following two contests are on the road at FIU (Oct. 1) and Kennesaw State (Oct. 4). The Blue Hens largest margin of victory last season came against KSU in a 4-0 win at Grant Stadium.
UD returns to Grant Stadium for back-to-back home games against Western Kentucky (Oct. 11), and Middle Tennessee State (Oct. 18). It will be the first trip for the Hilltoppers and Blue Raiders to the First State. The Blue Hens final two road games are at Liberty (Oct. 22), the defending CUSA champions, and Jax State (Oct. 25).
The regular season concludes with a home contest against Sam Houston (Nov. 1). The Blue Hens and Bearkats faced off in the CUSA Quarterfinals last season.Ā
For the first time in program history, the Conference USA women's soccer tournament will be held at Grant Stadium. The top eight teams in the standings qualify for the tournament with quarterfinal games being played on November 8 and semifinal contests taking place on November 10. The CUSA Championship game will be held on November 13.Ā
