Men’s Basketball Wins Third-Consecutive Game with 76-67 Victory at Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team won its third-consecutive game Saturday afternoon at Missouri State, 76-67. The Fightin' Blue Hens advance to 9-16 overall and 5-9 in CUSA play, while the Bears drop to 13-12, 7-7 CUSA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware out shot Missouri State in all three facets of the game.
- Justyn Fernandez tallied a team-high 23 points for his fourth-straight game with at least 20 points.
- Tyler Houser scored 21 points on 7-of-1 shooting, including 2-of-3 from long range. He also snagged nine boards.
- Macon Emory neared a double-double with 18 points and eight rebounds.
- Christian Bliss recorded 12 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.
- Nearly even through the opening five minutes, UD held an 8-7 lead going into the first break. Delaware took its largest lead up to that point at 23-18 at the 7:32 mark with Houser and Fernandez combining for 18 of the team's points. The Hens widened the gap with a 9-5 run over 4:43 to 32-23. The Blue & Gold scored rode into the locker room with a 35-25 lead, holding the Bears without a field goal over the final 5:13 of the half.
- The gap would widen by as many as 14 points before the hosts chipped the deficit in half at 42-35 at the under-16 timeout. Missouri State made it a one-possession game at 46-43, however Delaware built the lead up to 51-45 at the under-12 break. The Bears roared back again to pull within one, but UD converted on seven-consecutive points to widen the margin once more. Bliss was fouled on his way to the bucket to force the next media break at 3:46 with the Hens ahead 62-53. Missouri State could only pull the gap to five the rest of the way.
- Under Martin Ingelsby, Delaware moves to 127-39 when leading at halftime and 104-27 when holding its opposition under 70 points.
