NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team dropped an overtime nailbiter Wednesday night, 88-87, to WKU. The Fighin' Blue Hens' three-game winning streak ended with UD falling to 9-17 overall and 5-10 in CUSA action. The Hilltoppers improve to 15-11, 8-7 CUSA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware shot an even 52-percent from the floor.
UD won the turnover margin (+1).
Tyler Houser and Christian Bliss finished with a team-high 24 points apiece.
Bliss neared a double-double with nine assists.
Justyn Fernandez tallied 17 points and snagged six rebounds.
Macon Emory notched 15 points and five boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED

WKU scored the first bucket of the game for a 3-0 lead before UD kept the lead into the under-12 break 16-9. The Hens would go up by as many as 13 before cruising into the under-eight-minute media stoppage with a 31-21 advantage with 6:56 on the clock. Delaware continued to maintain a sizable margin heading into the locker room ahead 41-29. The 12-point lead is the second largest of the season at the break behind the 23-point advantage against Saint Peter's.
The visitors pulled within six 4:30 into the second half before the Blue & Gold built the lead back to double figures. A Houser triple push it to 55-45 with 11:16 left. The Hilltoppers continued to claw back and used a 6-0 run to make it a 58-57 game at the eight-minute mark. WKU continued to battle, ultimately tying the game by the time the horn sounded to send the game to overtime.
The overtime period would see neither team lead by more than one possession with the Hens ahead 83-80 with 2:13 left. The rest of the game saw four ties and four lead changes with WKU ahead at the end.
