Men's Tennis Prevails Over Howard and Loyola (Md.) in Saturday Doubleheader

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men's tennis picked up two wins in its Saturday doubleheader against Howard and Loyola (Md.). The squad improves to 5-1 on the season.
The Fightin' Blue Hens defeated Howard in a 7-0 sweep and took care of business in the evening matchup against Loyola 6-1.
ON THE RECORD
"First time in my now fourth season here at Delaware that we were able to host a doubleheader," interim head coach Nathan Perrone said. "[It] felt great, and it was a total team effort to get through both matches today. Proud of our players. Time to keep going. A few weeks off matches, it's time to get digging and work on everything."

- Delaware clinched the doubles point with Tobey Lock/Luke Tollenaar pulling out a 6-2 win and Mason Robins/James Sclater prevailing 6-1.
- Pere Prat notched his first-career dual match singles victory, winning 6-1, 6-0 in sixth singles.
- The Hens took all six singles matches, while holding Howard to four or less set wins in every match.
LOOKING AT LOYOLA
- UD again clinched the doubles point, as the duos of Itamar Tapiro/Pere Prat and Mason Robins/James Sclater pulled out 6-3 and 6-4 wins, respectively.
- Lock got things started quickly in singles, taking down his opponent 6-0, 6-2.
- Delaware clinched the victory with Sclater's first-career dual match singles win (6-0, 6-2).
