Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Phoenix Opener

ELON, N.C. -Â The University of Delaware track & field team opened the outdoor season with three new top-10 marks in program history as the program competed at the Phoenix Opener, hosted by Elon University, on Friday.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Lauren Leath won the 400-hurdles at 1:00.71. Her time in the event ranks fifth in program history.
- Rachel Kuehl won the women's long jump at 5.73-meters. Her jump ranks sixth in program history.
- Taylor Stone finished second in the high jump at 1.65 meters. Her jump ranks seventh in program history.Â
- Rachel Schmitt finished second in the javelin throw at 41.52 meters.
- Olamide Ayeni was second in the women's discus at 51.05 meters. She also won the shot put at 15.04 meters.
- Morgan Mims was second in the 100-meters at 12.64 seconds.
- Sara Manson finished fourth in the 100-hurdles at 15.30 seconds.
- Sophia Axelrod was seventh in the hammer throw at 46.54 meters.
- Marleigh Lucas was eighth in the 200-meters at 26.09 seconds.
- Jordan Blanck was the top finisher in the 1500-meters at 5:00.41.
UP NEXT
Delaware will make a short trip down I-95 to compete in the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia on March 21.
