Track & Field Has Strong Team Performance at Penn Challenge

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Delaware track & field team competed earned five first place finishes, as well as four top 10 marks in program history at the Penn Challenge on Saturday.
RESULTS
- Sophia Axelrod finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.01 meters. Her throw is a new personal best and ranks fourth all-time in program history. Axelrod also won the discus throw at 38.85 meters.
- Rachel Schmitt was second in the javelin throw at 43.05 meters. The throw is a new personal best and ranks sixth all-time in program history.
- Kadence Dumas finished third in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:30.50. The time has a new personal best and ranks seventh in program history.
- Lauren Leath finished fourth in the 200-meters with a personal best time of 24.71 seconds. Her time ranks 10th in program history.
- UD earned four additional first place finishes on the day: Isabelle Kapoor 100-meter hurdles (15.04 seconds), Madison Gee in the triple jump (11.32 meters), Mackenzie Owens in the 400-hurdles (1:05.34) and the women's 4-by-400 meter relay team.
- Delana Einreinhofer finished third in the 3,000-meters at 10:14.99
- Sara Manson finished sixth in the high jump at 1.61 meters, which is a new personal best.
- Jordan Blanck was sixth in the 800-meters at 2:17.86.
- Chali Baumann was ninth in the long jump at 5.32 meters.
- Marleigh Lucas was 10th in the 100-meters with a new personal best time of 12.44 seconds.
UP NEXT
UD travels to Raliegh, North Carolina to compete in the Raliegh Relays from March 26-28.
