Conte Records Most Single Game Faceoff Wins in the Country This Season as Men’s Lacrosse Bests St. Bonaventure, 19-16

NEWARK, Del. – Scott Conte won 26 faceoffs, the most in a single game in the country this season and tied for the third most in program history, as the University of Delaware men's lacrosse team bested St. Bonaventure, 19-16, on Saturday at Delaware Stadium. The Fightin' Blue Hens have now won four-straight games, improving to 5-7, 3-2 A-10, while the Bonnies drop to 4-9, 0-5 A-10.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware won 26 faceoffs, the most in a game under Ben DeLuca.
- UD's 19 goals marked a season high and the most by the Blue & Gold since 2024.
- Conte won a career-high 26 faceoffs, the most in a single game nationally this season and tied for the third-most faceoff wins in program history to go with a career-best 17 ground balls. The freshman's 17 ground balls are tied for seventh most in a game in program history, and he added an assist for his first-career point.
- Brendan Powers recorded a season-best six points on four goals and two assists.
- Tyler Owings set a career high with five points (two goals, three assists) that all came in the first half. His three assists are a career high and the two goals match his personal best that he has done nine times.
- Jack Kolbe notched his first hat trick of the season, scoring four times to tie a career high in goals and points.
- Jason Kolar recorded a season-high six points (two goals, two assists).
- John McCurry scored three goals for his 10th-career hat trick.
- Keegan Lathrop tallied two goals to extend his goal streak to four games.
- Greyson Dunn scored his first-career goal to go with four ground balls.
- Justin Sanelli recorded his first-career assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lathrop got the scoring started for the Fightin' Blue Hens before St. Bonaventure evened the game at one heading into a media stoppage midway through the first. The Bonnies scored the next two goals to go up 3-1 late in the opening frame. Delaware scored three of the next four goals to close the period, leaving a 4-4 tie after one.
- The Bonnies struck first in the second before UD tallied five-straight goals to take a 9-5 lead. SBU ended the Blue & Gold run with two goals to close out the half as Delaware took a 9-7 advantage into the third quarter.
- SBU scored two goals to open the third followed by three-straight scores for the Hens to make it 12-9. The Bonnies scored again to cut it to 12-10 heading into the final frame.
- The two teams traded the first four goals of the fourth to leave a 14-12 Delaware lead with eight minutes to go in regulation. UD scored four of the next five goals, including three goals in 19 seconds, to go up 18-13 with just over six minutes remaining. SBU scored three of the last four goals, but Delaware held on for the high-scoring victory.
GAME NOTES
- The Blue & Gold moved to 37-1 when scoring at least 15 goals under Ben DeLuca.
- The Hens jumped to 53-13 when leading after three quarters under DeLuca.
- Delaware improved to 50-19 when scoring first under DeLuca.
