Track & Field Competes at Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -Â The University of Delaware track & field team competed at the Virginia Challenge, hosted by the University of Virginia, from April 16-18.
RESULTS
- Rachel Starr finished fifth in the 5,000 meter run at 17:07.25. Her time is a new personal best and ranks 10th all-time in program history.Â
- Olamide Ayeni was fourth in the discus at 52.91 meters.Â
- Taylor Stone was fifth in the high jump at 1.62 meters. She was also the top Blue Hens finisher in the 100 hurdles at 15.00.
- Annika Leineweber was fifth in the 10,000 meter run at 37:16.50
- Libby DeMichele was eighth in the 3,00 meter steeplechase at 11:46.96
- Rachel Schmitt was ninth in the javelin throw at 43.35 meters.Â
- Kadence Dumas was 10th in the 800 meter invite at 2:07.34.
- Lauren Leath was 10th in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:01.46
- Top finishers in each event included Sophia Axelrod in the hammer throw (53.20 meters), Chali Baumann in the long jump (5.26 meters), Ayeni in the shot put (14.20 meters), Marleigh Lucas in the 100-meters (12.78), Leah Clear in the 1500 meter invite (4:27.68), Morgan Mims in the 400 meters (56.46).Â
UP NEXT
UD travels to Philadelphia to compete in the Penn Relays from April 23-25 next week.Â
