Men’s Golf Closes Regular Season with Seventh-Place Finish at Rutherford Intercollegiate

STATE College, Pa. – Junior Arsit Areephun finished at 3-under par and claimed runner-up honors, leading the University of Delaware men's golf team to a seven-place finish at the 13-team Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State. The Fightin' Blue Hens turned in a three-round score of 16-over par 868 at the par-71, 7,130-yard Penn State Blue Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Hens totaled 42 birdies over the three rounds, including 17 during Saturday's second round when they turned in an even-par 283 as a team in.
- Areephun opened his weekend with a 3-under par 68, draining five of his 11 total birdies. He carded even-par 71 in each of his final two rounds to finish second overall in the 75-man field.
- Iampongsai had three birdies as he fired a 2-under par 69 in Saturday's second round.
- Itzoe carded a 1-under 70 in his second round when he drained three of his eight total birdies.
- Playing as an individual, Homer turned in rounds of 1-under par 70 and even-par 71 during Saturday's two rounds. He finished with six total birdies and an eagle.
OF NOTE
- This is Areephun's fourth top-10 finish in nine tournament this season.
- Areephun has played in 27 rounds and now has a team-leading 17 rounds at even or under par.
UP NEXT
Delaware will travel to Texarkana, Arkansas next week to compete in the 2025 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship. The four-day tournament will be held April 27-30 at Texarkana Country Club. Teams will play 54 holes over the first three days before the top four teams will advance to a match play semifinals and finals on the fourth day.
