Ayeni Places First in Collegiate Shot Put at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Delaware track & field program competed at Penn Relays from April 23-25, and had athletes compete at the John Covert Classic on April 25.

RESULTS

Olamide Ayeni won the shot put with a throw of 14.97 meters. The throw is her second-best mark of the season.
The women's 4 by 400-meter relay team of Morgan Mims, Kadence Dumas, Jordan Blanck and Lauren Leath ran a time of 3:32.12. The time ranks fourth all-time in program history. The follow day, they ran in the final and finished second.
Rachel Schmitt was fourth in the javelin throw with a new personal best mark of 43.99 meters. The throw ranks third all-time in program history.
Sophia Axelrod was eighth in the weight throw at 53.94 meters.
Rachel Kuehl's jump of 5.65 meters is 10^th all-time in program history.
Taylor Stone was tied for 10^th in the high jump at 1.65 meters.
The Fightin' Blue Hens 4 by 100-meter relay team of Alexis Hardy, Jacquelyn Rolle, Jahzara Emeli, and Morgan Mims was 11^th with a time of 47.08.
Rachel Starr finished the 10,000-meter run with a time of 36:10.42.
Isabelle Kapoor (14.95) and Sara Manson (14.96) competed in the 100-hurdles
Lauren Leath (1:00.43) competed in the 400-hurdles.
At the John Covert Classic, Eva Denis was first in the 100-meter dash at 12.66 seconds.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will compete at Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton, from May 1-2 next week. It will be the final regular season
