NEWARK, Del. – The Summit League has unveiled its 2026 men's soccer schedule, the league announced Wednesday. The Fightin' Blue Hens will play a five-game slate with three road games and two home games at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.
The Summit League's six programs will play a single round-robin format starting on September 26 with seven-consecutive Saturdays filled with five matches before regular season play concludes on Saturday, October 31. Each team will have one bye weekend in conference play.
UD will play its Summit League opening match on Saturday, September 26 as the Hens hit the road to take on Omaha. The two teams most recently met last season when UD picked up a 6-0 win at home, making Delaware 1-0-0 all-time against the Mavericks. Omaha finished last season with a 3-9-4 record.
After a bye week to begin October, Delaware will visit St. Thomas on Saturday, October 10. It will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs, as the Hens were victorious last year in a 1-0 home win. The Tommies went 7-5-5 for the 2025 season.
Delaware will return home on Saturday, October 17 for its first home match of league play when it hosts Kansas City. UD is 0-1-1 all-time against the Roos as it looks to avenge its 3-3 draw to end the regular season and 0-2 loss in the Summit League semifinals last season. Kansas City went 12-4-5 last season after falling in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Blue & Gold will remain home the following weekend when it takes on Oral Roberts on Saturday, October 24. In the lone matchup in program history, the teams tied last season 0-0. The Golden Eagles finished with a 4-10-3 record in 2025.
The regular season will conclude when the Hens travel to Massachusetts to play UMass on Saturday, October 31. The two teams most recently met last season when UD picked up a 6-0 win. Delaware is 2-2-0 all-time against the Minutemen. UMass finished 6-5-6 last year.
The format, dates, and location(s) for the 2026 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship are still to be determined.
The Blue Hens finished the 2025 campaign with a 12-2-3 record and will return 17 players for the 2026 season. Rich Monath was named the 2025 Summit League Midfielder of the Year. Monath, Jan Schroeder, and Marius Stenner were named First Team All-League. Luke Chatten, JoJo Elliott Jr., Freddy Jeffreys, and Mikey Johnson received second team honors.
